high desert bar and music venue
This 5-acre lot in Landers (east of Pioneer Town and north of Joshua Tree in the Mojave Desert) has been a local watering hole and neighborhood meeting place for over 40 years.
The existing buildings onsite (a bar/restaurant and a house) will be renovated with kitchen, utilities and indoor stage/lounge upgrades. Outdoors, a new main stage structure will anchor site improvements such as outdoor dining areas and outdoor bars. The project also takes shape around a permacultural approach to the landscape and site design, situated carefully within the naturally occurring systems of the site (related to water flows, wildlife corridors, wind patterns and native plants).
As locals in the area, we are honored to have been selected to work with our amazing — also local and women-owned — client team on this important and fun project, to create a gathering place in our own backyard that keeps the high desert vibe in tact, makes room for sustainable growth on the site, and keeps a local business in the right hands.
